Blog Evaluation
I feel the blog is something unique. Before this class, i didn't even know how to create a blog, don't even mention use it. I had viewed other students opinions, but it does not provide me an understanding of that student, or to know the student. I feel i was reading an anonymous paper since i just clicked the link, and not really know the name. In terms of communicating in class, i don't feel benefited from viewing others' online because opinion is just an opinion. People are having different experience, therefore will have different values on something.
There is a connection between the blog and the class activities. After we finished the activity, when we started doing the blog, we would need to refect back what did we did, and how were the things we did relate to the class materials. Thus i think the blog is effectively share my perception of the things we did in class.
In terms of professor's blog about the management topics, i feel they are interesing. However, i don't like to leave comments for those topics in a mandatory way. In the beginning, i didn't even know that we had to leave comments for the professor's blog, so we i looked through the professor's topics, and several students comments, my first reaction was that they are interesting, and that the students' comments are long compared to our regular comments to other students. For me, if there is no need to leave comments, then i would like to see more of the different management topics that are not related to the class study, otherwise vice versa.
About the counterbalance between the blog and the test, indeed, the blog is somewhat gives us a relief and a backup for our final grades. The blog grade is easy to get, and writing the blog does not cause you a lot of time. Unlike test which we have to study for a long time, and to get a good grade is something not easy. As a total, i feel that there is some degree that the test anxiety is been released due to blog.
After i finished this class, i don't think that i will use the blog anymore. I don't like to share my personal thoughts online.
I think for class activities, blog assignments are necessary since they can bring back the memory and able to let us understand the subject better. If the blog needs improvement, i think is to not force the students to leave comments for every topic or force to give a certain number of comments because sometimes i feel there is nothing to say about.
