Since I'm taking five classes this semester, and all of these classes have homeworks, not including the reading. The most difficult homeworks are from ACC 2203, ECO 4000, and FIN 3710, especially the FIN 3710. For that class, i need to spend more than two days to complete the homework. For instance, the first homework includes Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, one additional problem, and a group assignment. All of them are just as one homework, and were due on the 15th. The second homework for that class is due on the 24th, and it also includes three chapters. Plus the homeworks from my other classes are also due next week, and they are all not easy homeworks.
As you can imagine, our life is not just about school. We have other things to do also. For me, I have to do the house cleaning, cooking, and sometimes helping my mother to do part of her job in the fashion factory, and sometimes helping my sister selling the bags during the weekends in Chinatown.
When i planned the schedules and the courses to take for this semester, i thought i would manage them well. But now i realized that i was too optimistic. Now i just have little time for myself.
Sometimes i even take job off in order for me to have more time to do the homework and study.
I hope there is a way to balance them.

I know it’s really hard to balance yourself between school and personal life. Also, I see lots of stress running around from your blog. When I was in Korea, I had almost same problems like yours. My parents are very old. After school, I had to help them out in restaurant. Also, I had to run an errand here and there for them. I was attending a private university so I had to tutor some students in order to save money for my expensive tuition. I was very tired everyday. One day I asked myself if I was doing right or not,,,because I did not have any fun about my life at that time. So I decided to try a different lifestyle. First, I had to learn how to manage my time. I used notebook to jot down things to do. At the beginning, it was annoying but I was getting used to it as time went by, little by little. Also, I tried to spend more time to do things that are most important to me.
Also, Qi, it’s really good for you to help your mom and sister but you should also take care of your health. Without good health, you can’t do anything.
Also, try to do your routine chores on workdays or school days. Then you can relax more on your day off. Hrmmm.one more thing.., try to have some time with your family or friends even though it’s hard to do it… Spending time with them help you rejuvenate from your exhausted life.
I hope my advice help you . Qi.. Like everyone says, “no pain, no gain”I think it makes sense. I believe that your efforts will be rewarded someday…I know you can do it. Be confident on yourself~~~Cheer up~

I understand that it is not only you. I am too. I live alone in New York, so I have to do all by myself. Sometimes, I miss my past life which means that my mother did do for me when I was in Korea. I did not do anything which were cooking, cleaning, and paying. I just concerntrated my study and got pocket money from my parents. It was easy life for me. However, now, I think that my past life was that I did not know anything because I had to help for my parents. I really ashame. Du! you do well now even though you have a lot of things. Someday, you will get something special from them. And your optimistic mind is really good for your future. I think that you will never give up even small things.
I think time management is the most common problem for college students, especialy those who have to fit a job in their schedule on top of their college work. I am also a Finance investment major and I definitely know what you are talking about. Infact I am also taking ECO 4000 which is definately a lot of work.
I highly recommend you to purchase an academic planner and plan ahead your week every sunday. That should ease up things and help you avoid to be surprised by homework due dates or upcoming exam dates.
One good thing is that you are lucky to have a job flexible enough to allow you to take off when you are busy with your studies.
