Evaluating The Decision Making Process

Personally, the way that i chose to use to handle the chaos during the class decision making exercise was compromise. For enhance my grade, i wanted the professor to drop the lowest score exam, to curve the exams, to give out extra credits, and to reformat the exam.

By reformatting, I meant to make the next exams all mutiple choices, but no mutiple-multiple choices or just multiple-multiple choices but tell us how many that we need to choose in one question. Also, I didn't want to have essay questions on the exam. I am not good at thinking and writing the essay in a short time. Usually I need to spend one to two hours to write an essay. For this exam, on the essay part, I lost 27 points. That meant the highest score that i could get is 73 if all other questions were correct, which is impossible. Therefore, i just got a D on this exam without curve. I can foresee the next exam if there is an essay question, i will get a similar grade.
However, I know that some students are good at essay questions, they want to have essay questions on the exam. It was impossible to get everyone to agree on this, thus this idea had to be terminated. At least, I got what i wanted of the first three: drop, curve, and extra credit. I'm satisfied.

The other way to handle the conflicts to get a more desirable result is collaboration. This is better because I can bargain with other students who are good at essay to let them agree on no essay on the next exams or change the essay to a short question problem that just require us to write a paragraph. By using the collaboration method, there is at least a chance of getting the result that i'm hoping for.

We're in similar situation. I wasnt good at the essay part either, but I am happy that we can drop our lowest grade, curve our score, and get some extra credits, so we can have better grades.

That's right~
I really wanted to appear no more essay question in future exams, but it was probably our greedy. I feel that we can get better than first one.

I was also pleased with the deal. We all got what we wanted because it was a well rounded decision. People who did bad received a curve and have a chance to do extra credit. We also changed the format of the test. The multiple multiple choice was difficult because almost everything looked correct. Now we will know exactly how many are right before we choose.
I think you should have stepped up and said something about the essay question. A lot of students do not have English as a first language and essays are difficult for them. You could have spoken up and asked for the format of choosing if you want to do an essay or not. People might have agreed on it.
